Emily Tanner, ISR Instructor

First and foremost I am a follower of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He is my everything and without Him my life would not be the same. My second greatest love is my husband and high school sweetheart of 23 years! I am a mama of 5 kids ranging in age from 22-15. They are my greatest joy and biggest fans! I joined the ISR mission for two reasons: the first is because my husband is a firefighter paramedic and I have seen his pain after going on calls that no one wants to ever make or receive; a child who has lost their life to drowning. I have people in my personal circle that have bared this pain as well. Losing a child is never easy, but it seems even worse when it was preventable. The second reason I joined was because we started co-raising my niece and we have a pool. Her safety is of great importance to our family. So that’s when I dove in and got my feet wet with ISR! The extensive training they provide in early childhood development as well as the ISR technique in learning aquatic survival skills blew me out of the water! It drove in me a desire to do this amazing work with excellence and to see each student as if they were my own. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity ISR has given me and for being a part of the ISR mission: Not One More Child Drowns.
