Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take a vacation during the training period?

While consistency is key in skill acquisition we understand that Summer is a busy vacation season. However we recommend to hold off until after lessons have completed. If you still choose to take your vacation during lessons you are still responsible to pay tuition for the week that you are gone and it can be no longer than 5 lessons missed. Please keep in mind that your child may regress some from missing lessons as well as needing to get back into a routine after vacation.

Are you really located in Oak Leaf?

YES! I am located off of Westmoreland and Ovilla Rd.

Why are there dietary restrictions?

In a nutshell certain foods can change the child’s buoyancy in the water. While this won’t affect them after they have acquired skills it does in fact affect their skill retention during lessons. Please stick to the dietary restrictions found in the ISR parent handbook.

Inclement weather:

Infant Swim Red Oak LLC. has an indoor pool studio. We cancel for severe lightning, hail, and inclement weather. Please refer to the contract for rules, restrictions and protocols.

Do children have to lay on their left side after lessons?

💯 yes. Students need to take a couple minutes after each lesson and rest on their left side. Your little one will be working hard during lessons! This posture allows for the muscles to recover, blood flow and balance to return to normal and for them to bring breathing to a resting rate. Please encourage your child to rest while laying on their left side as safety is our number one priority in water and on deck.

Are swimming lessons for infants and young children safe?

I can’t speak for all swim lessons, but I can tell you ISR is dedicated to safety and maintaining numerous safety protocols to promote safe lessons. Your child's health and well-being are our highest priority and are closely monitored on a daily basis. In addition, your child's medical and developmental history is a mandatory part of the ISR national registration process, all of which is held strictly confidential. All ISR instructors undergo intensive and rigorous training that far exceeds any other training program of this kind. Each ISR instructor is also required to recertify yearly with emphasis on quality control, safety and lesson efficiency. Your education in the area of aquatic safety for your entire family is an integral part of your child's lessons. You will receive access to the "Parent Resource Guide" to inform you about every aspect of swimming and aquatic safety for infants and children.
With research, you will find that ISR is not only the safest survival swimming program but also the most effective for teaching infants and young children.
